CEREC in Fenton, MO
We are pleased to offer our Fenton patients Cerec restoration services. Cerec technology allows us to create strong, customized, tooth-colored ceramic restorations right here in the office, usually in a single appointment.
In the course of one visit, we can diagnose and prepare your damaged tooth, create an optical impression of the tooth, and use Cerec to design and mill a precision restoration, which is then permanently bonded to your tooth. No mess, no discomfort, no wait.
What is CEREC?
CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic
Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.
CEREC Uses The Finest Dental Materials
These materials match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when hot food or cold drinks are consumed the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. Also, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so Dr. Kemlage can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.
CEREC onlays take the place of extensive amalgam or composite fillings to
create a smooth, tooth-colored replacement of tooth material lost to
cavities. Onlays cover one or more of the cusps (bumps) on the chewing
surface of the tooth. Onlays can also be called partial crowns. With a CEREC
onlay, you may be able to avoid the need for a full crown.
The CEREC onlay has superior aesthetics to porcelain/metal crowns. Because it is metal free, it has a more natural look and feel, and the CEREC onlay can help preserve healthy, natural tooth structure. Cerec restorations allow you to avoid the impression materials, temporary and return appointment associated with lab-created onlays.
CEREC crowns provide a beautiful, metal free, enamel-like material that looks and feels like your real teeth. A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape and size, strength or improve its appearance. A crown may be needed to protect a weakened tooth from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth, to restore a broken tooth or a tooth that has been severely worn down, or to replace old, failing restorations. As with any CEREC restoration, your crown can be taken care of in one visit so you can avoid the impression material, temporary crown and return appointment.
